What usually prompts the call

• Something has stopped working — an outlet, a circuit, half the house.
• A breaker that keeps tripping, which is a protective device doing its job and telling you something.
• Lights flickering or dimming when a large appliance starts.
• You are adding load the house was not built for: an EV, a heat pump, a hot tub, a workshop, an addition.
• You are renovating, which is both the best and the cheapest time to deal with everything behind the walls.

A pattern worth naming: houses accumulate electrical decisions. A circuit gets extended for a garage freezer, a bathroom gets a heater, a bedroom becomes an office with three monitors and a printer, and each of those was individually sensible. The wiring underneath never got a vote. Most residential work is not repairing a fault at all — it is bringing the installation back in line with how the house is actually lived in now, which is why the first useful question is usually about what has changed rather than about what has broken.

How we work in an occupied home

A house is not a job site. People are living in it, sleeping in it, working from it, and the work has to fit around that rather than the other way round.

We agree the disruption before we start: which circuits go off and for how long, whether the internet or the refrigerator is affected, and what time of day suits the household. Our hours run 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week, which gives most families a window that does not wreck their day.

We look before we price. That means opening the panel, testing what is actually happening, and telling you the scope and the cost before anything starts. If we find something beyond what you called about — a double-tapped breaker, an ungrounded circuit, a connection running hot — you hear about it at that point, with an honest view of whether it is urgent or can wait, and it is your decision what happens next.

We work clean. Dust sheets, tidy routes, and the floor swept before we leave. Where walls have to be opened we tell you where and how much before we cut, not while you are looking at the hole. Permits are handled and inspections attended where the work requires them, and the panel is labelled properly at the end.
