La Vergne occupies the northwest corner of Rutherford County, pressed up against the Davidson County line with the interstate running through it and Percy Priest Lake on its northern edge. It is a working town, and its electrical profile is shaped by what sits along that interstate.
About La Vergne
Two things happened here at roughly the same time. Distribution and light industrial buildings went up in quantity along the corridor, taking advantage of the interstate and the position between two counties. And large amounts of housing were built for the people working in them and in the city — mostly from the 1980s onward, in subdivisions laid out at speed.
The result is a town of two halves: a big-box industrial and warehouse side, and a residential side that is largely twenty-five to forty years old with newer building continuing at the edges.
Warehouse and distribution work
Large buildings have their own electrical priorities. Lighting is the obvious one — high-bay replacement and relighting projects, racking-aisle layouts that actually put light where the picking happens, emergency and exit lighting that has to work when tested. Beyond that we handle three-phase distribution and subpanels, dock equipment, compressors and conveyors, machine connections and disconnects, and adding capacity when a tenant’s operation outgrows what the building was fitted with.
Work in an operating facility is a scheduling problem as much as an electrical one, and we plan shutdowns rather than discovering them.
Retail, service and office units
Along the main routes there is a steady flow of tenant improvement work: space changing hands, layouts changing, equipment being connected, lighting reworked and service capacity checked against what a new occupant intends to run. Older units carry the accumulated modifications of everyone who has been through them, so tracing and re-labelling the distribution is usually the first productive hour of any job.
Houses
La Vergne’s housing stock is mostly modern enough that deteriorating wiring is not the issue. What it does have is capacity questions and equipment reaching mid-life. Panels are full, builder-installed devices have started failing, protective breakers trip and need a real diagnosis, and households want circuits for chargers, hot tubs, garage workshops and finished bonus rooms.
Storm and surge damage repairs come up regularly, and whole-home surge protection at the panel is inexpensive insurance for a house full of electronics and appliance control boards.
Rental and multi-family
There is a lot of rental property here. For owners and managers that means turnover repairs, documented safety inspections, smoke and carbon monoxide alarm wiring and common-area lighting, all of which we take on as routine work.
