Smyrna is a substantial town in the northern part of Rutherford County, between the interstate and Percy Priest Lake, with a large manufacturing base and a lot of new housing. It has grown enormously and continues to, and the electrical work here covers the full range from a bedroom outlet to three-phase machinery.
About Smyrna
Three things define the town electrically. It has a serious industrial and distribution employment base, which brings plant, warehouse and equipment work. It has decades of residential growth layered one subdivision at a time, so housing runs from mid-century homes near the older core to houses finished this year. And it has an airfield and the commercial development that clusters around that kind of activity.
Very few towns in our service area contain that much variety inside one set of limits.
Homes across four decades of building
In older Smyrna housing we see the standard age-related list: services that were adequate for a smaller household, panels that are full, ungrounded branch circuits, and protection missing from the rooms where the code now requires it. In the newer subdivisions the calls are about adding load — chargers, hot tubs, detached garages, workshops, additions — and about diagnosing protective devices that trip repeatedly, which is a fault to be found rather than a breaker to be replaced.
Between the two sit thousands of houses that are twenty to thirty years old and now reaching the age where original devices, fixtures and sometimes the panel itself want attention.
Commercial and tenant work
The retail, restaurant and office space along the main corridors turns over regularly, and each change of use needs the electrical side reworked: a load calculation against the existing service, circuits reconfigured for a new layout, equipment and kitchen connections, sign and exterior lighting, and a panel schedule that reflects the building as it now is. Where the previous tenant’s alterations were undocumented, mapping the distribution first saves money on everything that follows.
Industrial and plant electrical
For manufacturing, warehouse and light industrial sites we take on three-phase distribution, motor controls, machine connections and disconnects, high-bay and warehouse lighting, additions to existing distribution, and maintenance and fault-finding scheduled around production. Downtime is the expensive part of any plant electrical job, so the planning matters more than the labour, and we would rather do the survey properly and work a night than improvise during a shift.
How we work
We test and measure rather than guess, we tell you when the job is smaller than you thought it was, and we arrange permits and inspections where the jurisdiction requires them. Circuits are labelled and documented before we hand anything back.
